Beyond documenting the site’s landscape and spatial installations, we were tasked with a brief to re-imagine and design a new visual logo for Jupiter Artland, offering a fresh perspective on its visual identity.
Identity Redesign: For the logo task, I focused on capturing the dialogue between rigid artistic structure and organic, changing landscapes, translating spatial experiences into a simplified typographic mark.
Social & Mindset Reset: Navigating the park provided a much-needed break from studio crunch, allowing me to connect with new peers and recharge my creative mindset.
Reflection
Stepping out of the digital studio into a physical sculpture park was deeply rejuvenating.
Observing how physical art interacts with organic nature reminded me that systems—whether spatial or generative—must leave room for human interpretation.
Designing a logo for a physical landscape refreshed my perspective on how brand identities can remain flexible rather than rigid.

Returning to studio work, I refocused on refining Module 2 (Visual Translation) in TouchDesigner.
To elevate the liquid simulation beyond simple blur and feedback trails, I began researching and integrating the Displace TOP node into my network to introduce complex spatial distortion.
How
Node Configuration: I routed noise maps and vector textures through a Displace TOP node to distort the base brush strokes and feedback loops.
Simulating Surface Tension: By modulating displacement strength and UV offsets, the rendered liquid marks began shifting, warping, and stretching dynamically—mimicking the way physical coffee rings deform as liquid evaporates across textured paper.
Reflection
Introducing displacement was a crucial step in removing the digital rigidity of the canvas.
In nature, liquid never spreads uniformly; physical micro-textures force it to bleed unevenly.
The Displace operator allowed me to simulate this micro-friction digitally, bringing the generative stain engine one step closer to physical reality.
