The project aims to build an interactive generative installation that visually materializes how social consensus and collective consciousness are shaped, nudging participants to critically reflect on the invisible forces behind socio-technological dynamics.

System Mechanism: The proposed installation will transform individual participant inputs into real-time, evolving visual structures. By showing how distinct personal voices merge or conflict within a shared space, the generative engine directly reflects the delicate balance between personal expression and collective framework constraints.
Reflection
Transitioning from five loose ideas to a singular, focused topic brought a immense sense of clarity.
Framing "consensus" not as an abstract social theory but as a visual system allows me to leverage graphic design as a tool for critical inquiry.
It moves the project beyond purely functional visual communication into the realm of an interactive, conceptual experience.

To translate the fluid nature of consensus into a tangible design language, I conducted extensive visual exploration and divergent thinking around physical media.
During this investigation, I discovered that water stains (fluid rings and mark-making left by liquid evaporation) serve as a compelling visual metaphor for the residual traces left by human interaction and social friction over time.
How
Morphological Analysis: I analyzed how liquid spreads, bleeds, and settles on surfaces. The boundaries of a stain are never sharp; they feature unpredictable gradients, overlapping rings, and organic contours shaped by surface tension.
Visual Mapping: I mapped these physical traits directly to social phenomena. An isolated stain represents an individual's perspective, while overlapping, bleeding stains reflect the convergence, dilution, or merging of multiple voices into a shared consensus.
Reflection
Finding the right visual metaphor is crucial when designing generative algorithms.
Without a clear physical or conceptual anchor, algorithmic outputs risk becoming generic digital noise.
Water stains provide a grounded, organic language that balances unpredictable, liquid randomness with structured boundary patterns—a duality that perfectly matches the mechanics of generative code.
